5.29.1 Service

• Check that the sheaves (3 and 4) rotate freely.

• Check the sheaves for wear and damage.

• Check the side-plates of the hook block are tight and not damaged.

• Check that the hook rotates freely.

• Check that the safety catch functions properly.

• Check the hook forging for wear, burrs, deformation and cracks.

# When the safety catch is straight, but it is able to flip over the tip of the hook, check the hook

forging dimensions.
